The collection Imprints of Communism contains nine texts of significant Czech essayists and theoreticians (among others Václav Cílek, Stanislav Komárek, Jiří Přibáň or Zdeňek Vašíček) that have intended to show on the background of Czechoslovak and Soviet propagandistic posters in which way communism in 20 century has changed human and social life. In their contributions, they contemplate, for instance, on the fact how communism has changed our relation to landscape and nature, in which way it has been imprinted into architecture and urban planning, and what its impacts on family life and education have been like, and etc. All texts are complemented with rich pictorial material that represents an interesting illustration out of a unique collection of poster communistic propaganda.
Publication is available for sale at KOSMAS and at Prinz Prager Gallery.
